The Cabernet Franc Day, Virginia’s perspective

We contacted Janine Aquino, Expert Winery & Agritourism Consultant and Licensed Real Estate Agent regarding the Cabernet Franc Day and she mentioned that Cabernet Franc is one of the top grapes grown in Virginia – it’s used to make a single varietal wine and it can also be blended.

It is spicy and peppery with aromas of plum, blackberry, violets, and tobacco. It has earned an international reputation and is considered one of our best red wines. We have won many award nationally and internationally for our Cabernet Francs. Our different terroirs are perfect for this cold hardy grapes – currently we grow over 700 acres.

Most of the wineries in Virginia grow this grape.
